General Cleanliness Guidelines for POV Turn-In
When turning in a Privately Owned Vehicle (POV), a certain level of cleanliness is required. Below are the minimum cleanliness standards to be met before a POV can be accepted. Vehicles that do not meet these standards will be turned away for cleaning.
Inspection Areas
• Interior, Exterior, Trunk/Cargo Area: Every part of the POV must be inspected for cleanliness.
Exterior Cleanliness
• Requirements: The exterior should be free of bug splatter, leaves, pollen, dirt, soil, sand, and mud. Contact with the car exterior should not result in any residue on fingers or gloves.
Interior Cleanliness
• Requirements: The interior must be clear of dirt, soil, leaves, pollen, sand, stones, mud, plant life, food particles, pet dander, stains, trash, and debris. Ensure thorough vacuuming and wiping down of:
• Floor mats (top and bottom)
• Under seats and between seat rails
• Center console, cup holders, dashboard, glove compartments
• Storage compartments, doors, door pockets
• All seats, seat pockets, ceiling, floor, and trunk
Trunk Area Cleanliness
• Requirements: The trunk, including the spare tire compartment, must be completely vacuumed, clean, and dry.
Check for Dampness
• Ensure all carpets, mats, and upholstery are dry before shipment.
Specific Vehicle Types
• Trucks: Ensure the truck bed is completely empty and clean of debris.
• Station Wagons/SUVs/Vans: Inspect and vacuum under rear seats and check behind rear seats.
Note: Any stains that cannot be removed but do not have any loose particulates may still be acceptable for shipping.
